Stylized blueprint portrait of Otto Zobel

Otto Zobel

1887 – 1970

Bell filter theorist; systematized matched networks and pads.

A Bell Labs engineer, Zobel systematized the design of electric wave filters and matched networks (pads) in the 1920s, giving telephony the tools to shape and route signals precisely.

The attenuator and filter tools here descend from his synthesis methods, developed alongside George Campbell.

Portrait: a stylized blueprint-line rendering, not a photograph.
