What we collect

Your email address, if you subscribe to the Brief. That's the only personal information this site asks for. We also note which page you signed up from, so we know what's working.

Anonymous usage statistics via self-hosted analytics (Umami): pages viewed, referrers, which calculators get used, and what people search for. No cookies for tracking, no fingerprinting, no cross-site anything, and nothing tied to you personally.

What we do with it

Your email goes to beehiiv, the newsletter platform that delivers the Brief (their privacy policy). We use it to send you the newsletter you asked for. That's it.

Subscribers are not a product. We do not sell, rent, or share your email with anyone. Sponsors buy space in the Brief; they never receive the list. This is a standing commitment from Our Promise.

Calculators & your data

Every calculator runs entirely in your browser. Nothing you type into a calculator is sent to us — inputs, results, and your run history live only on your device (browser localStorage) and you can clear them any time.

Unsubscribing & deletion

Every email has a one-click unsubscribe. Want your address wiped entirely? Email [email protected] and it's gone from beehiiv and any backup within 30 days, no questions.

Third parties we rely on

beehiiv (email delivery), Cloudflare (serving the site), and our own self-hosted analytics. No ad networks, no data brokers, no social pixels.

Changes

If this policy changes in a way that matters, we'll say so in the Brief itself — not bury it. Questions: [email protected].
